Objectives of the Qualifications

The qualifications concentrate on the development of a clear understanding of the range of disciplines and techniques which underpin successful programme and project management, and their practical application.

On completion of the Certificate or the Diploma, candidates will be able to:

  • Apply a range of techniques to Programmes/Projects
  • Improve team and individual performance
  • Understand the business, social and political contexts that affect projects and programmes
  • Develop a focused and disciplined approach to developing and implementing plans and controls in Programme and Project Management
  • Enhance communication and use information more effectively
  • Improve team and individual performance
  • Combine knowledge of tools and techniques with an understanding of wider business and governance issues

Candidates taking the Certificate can complete just six further units to achieve the degree-level PPM Diploma.

We recognise previously assessed learning, and exemptions are available for some core units as well as the Project Management electives. Exemptions for other assessed qualifications can also be accepted, although these would need to be agreed with the assessing organisation.
