Continuing Professional Development

Most professional organisations now recommend that their members follow some form of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme to ensure they keep their skills and knowledge up to date.

Below are details of professional bodies that recognise PRINCE2® as part of their CPD schemes, as well as information about continuing professional development within the PRINCE2 discipline itself.

The Project Management Institute (USA)

A PMP's Continuing Certification cycle can be identified by the dates on their PMP Certificate.

Some PRINCE2 Accredited Training Organisations are PMI Registered Education providers. PMI PDU's can be earned by attending their PRINCE2 courses.

Institute for Management of Information Systems - IMIS
The Institute for the Management of Information Systems has recently redrafted their Higher Diploma syllabus and PRINCE2 Practitioners are now able to gain an exemption from the Project Management module with their qualification. To find out more please go to www.imis.org.uk.

Continuing Development in PRINCE2

APMG requires all Registered PRINCE2 Practitioners to keep their skills up to date, and to demonstrate their knowledge by taking and passing a Re-Registration Examination every five years.

All Registered PRINCE2 Practitioners as well as Foundation-only candidates have one year's access to APMG's pm4success website (from the date of their exam) which provides a wealth of information to enable them to plan their own CPD programme.
